Nick & Tanya Coates are a husband and wife team who, in 2010, took over the running of the long standing family business spanning five generations.
Nick started as a Saturday lad and has worked in the family business for over 30 years, since being 11 years old in the slaughterhouse and shop at Two Dales, picking up years of experience from both his father, Roger and Grandfather, Eric.
With continued success they opened a second shop at Darley Dale in 2017.
All animals are personally chosen on the hoof from local farms, where welfare is paramount, with farmers they have traded with for generations. The animals are slaughtered locally and the beef hung for at least 21 days before being processed by their highly skilled team of butchers.
Their sausages have won numerous awards, in 2018 Coates along with renowned local farmer Micheal Wynne, won the prestigious Royal Smithfield Perpetual Trophy for both ribs of beef and saddle of lamb competition at Stafford Winter Fair.
We're delighted to be working with Nick and his team. We know that through them, we are able to offer our customers exceptional quality alongside outstanding welfare standards.
